neutrinogear came from a simple place: an obsession with gear that felt more mine.
gear that was more considered, more personal — less off the shelf and more like something that actually understood how i move through the hills.
after every hike, something would bug me. a strap that didn’t sit right. a pocket that made no sense. fabric choices that felt like compromises.
so i started tweaking things. cutting, modifying, adjusting. tents, stoves, clothing — nothing was safe. everything could be better, at least for me.
then i got a sewing machine, and that’s when things properly escalated.
once i’d learned the basics, i made my first pack using 210d robic nylon and stretch mesh. i took it on a thru-hike of the west highland way, half expecting it to fail somewhere along the way. but it didn’t. it held up.
it wasn’t perfect — far from it — but it was mine. and using something you’ve built yourself out on trail does something to your brain. it just hits different.
that was it. i was all in.
from there it became an obsession. i couldn’t leave it alone. more ultralight packs, bum bags, stuff sacks, even stoves.
constant learning, constant iteration. lots of mistakes, late nights, reworking things that didn’t quite work — but slowly, things started to click.
eventually, i hit a point where it felt like this didn’t have to just be for me anymore. it could be more than a personal obsession.
i wanted to make gear other people could take into the hills. gear that still carried that same mindset, that same attention to detail, but could become part of someone else’s story.
it felt like a big step. slightly daunting. definitely exciting.
and that’s how i ended up here.
a website built from scratch by me. gear designed, prototyped, and handmade by me.
gear for people who care about the details, the weight, the feel — people like us.
i’ll be releasing ultralight packs and gear in small batch drops, first come first served. other bits and pieces may land as ready-to-ship items when they’re ready.
no big runs. no mass production.
just handmade gear, with a human touch, released when it’s ready.
